Back to our Roots!

We are proclaiming 2019 to be the year we all go Retro! Everything from old video game systems, Disney remaking all of the classics in live action format, and kids are even rocking Champion brand all over again. Even at The Guild we have launched a Nostalgik Podcast reviewing the classics. (Shameless Plug, but really check it out)

One of the more difficult fads to bring back has been the hairstyles. Some of you know all too well that if you show up to the spot and your cut isn't tight, you will get put on blast.

This hasn't stopped a few of the more brazen brothers from bringing back a few of the classics! We will let you be the judge of what's hot and what needs to be left on the barbershop floor.

The Pompadour - Known for it’s elevated length and curls worn by icons like Elvis and prominently featured on dark and lovely boxes.

You remind me of a style that I once knew!

The Strong Black Mother - Currently only being worn by Yung Joc but supports both a fade and swooping top length.

The Soul Glow - Made famous by Coming to America and several 70’s funk artist. This style is now making a comeback. Be sure to wrap your furniture in plastic when hosting kickbacks.

The Hawaiian Silky - Popularized by the likes of Prince, Ice T and Snoop this style allows for free flowing length and the ability to have a full body look.
